The act of compressing air forces ambient moisture from the air which then condenses into water. Failure to remove that water can corrode your compressor and tank as well as harm downstream equipment. To reduce maintenance and downtime costs, water separators use centrifugal motion, gravity, or differential pressure to remove water before it can damage your equipment.
